Beach trip with a purpose

Did you know that the stretch between Runde and Ålesund is one of the most plastic-polluted places we know of in our ocean? Do you want to make a difference, but don't quite know where to start?

On the "beach trip with a purpose," you will gain a good foundation for becoming a skilled beach cleaner. Throughout the journey, you will gain insight into the enormous problem we have contributed to and learn about efforts to reduce plastic pollution in the sea. Equipped with necessary gear for effective clean-up, you'll join an experienced plastic cleaner to head out into the bay. You might be surprised by the peculiar items you discover, and we take time to observe what we're clearing. After two and a half hours, you'll truly feel the impact you've made!

The trip is not on a fixed route, but in rough terrain where most of the plastic settles in places that can be difficult to reach. It is therefore important to wear good shoes and clothes that can get dirty. We shouldn't hide the fact that it can be hard work! The activities are a good opportunity to get a real workout outside in the fresh air.

The activity is a tour designed for groups, such as school classes or corporate groups. Get in touch and we'll plan an educational tour.

Included in the experience are

- Beach clean-up tour with nature guide

- Bags and work gloves

Practical info

Since the trip goes along the shore, we recommend sturdy shoes with ankle support. The West Coast is a harsh weather area, so it's advisable to bring waterproof outerwear and practical warm clothing. We also encourage bringing a dry change of shoes and clothing.

In addition, you should bring:

- Hat and gloves if it's cold

The tour is tailor-made for groups on request, and can be booked all year round. Send an e-mail to booking@runde.no or call +47 700 80 800 for more information.
