Guided tour at Runde Environmental Center

Did you know that about 80% of the birds on Runde have disappeared over the last 40 years? Or that one of the biggest gold treasures ever found was at Runde?

Guided tour with stories about birds and the sea

Join us for a guided tour of the exhibition at Runde Environmental Center, where you'll gain knowledge about bird life, marine ecology, and the history of a fantastic treasure discovery. The tour begins with a screening of "Havets Sølv," with the film serving as a backdrop as our experienced nature guide leads you through the exhibition. You'll become acquainted with the various birds that inhabit the island, and we'll try to provide an explanation for why so many of them have disappeared. This tour is perfect whether you've been to or are planning to visit Rundefjellet.

Golden treasure!

In addition to birds and marine ecology, we take a golden journey back to 1725. The Akerendam ran aground on Runde, and it took almost 300 years before the wreckage of the ship was discovered by three divers. What actually happened to the treasure? Join us to hear the incredible story.
