Do you want to help develop a new destination for food culture at Runde?
We are looking for someone who wants to help further develop the visitor center at Runde Environmental Center in Sunnmøre in Møre og Romsdal. The coast right outside our door is a food dish we have been enjoying for thousands of years, and now we need YOU to join us on the journey of developing an exciting year-round destination.
Our food vision is to preserve the traditions we have around us, while constantly drawing inspiration and renewing ourselves. We have a predominance of guests in the summer months, but through various projects we are working to increase our year-round operations. We already have a strong focus on local produce and sustainable food, but we want more of this!
We are constantly developing new, educational activities for visitors, where the combination of research and experience is in focus. We also want the food experience to be a bigger part of this.
We also have accommodation in nice campsites that are rented out to visitors throughout the year.
Me offers
- Permanent appointment, 100% position. However, we are very willing to consider alternative forms of employment that may suit you best. Feel free to contact us to discuss the possibilities we have.
- Salary by agreement.
- Good opportunities to participate in courses and competence-enhancing activities.
- You will be part of a team that works for development, loves creative solutions and looks after each other.
- A good local network, so if you come from far away, we'll help to make sure you can thrive. Even outside working hours.
- A good professional network with other hospitality businesses and producers in our region.
- The opportunity to have a major impact on how sustainable food can be used in the modern kitchen.
- Access to a fantastic hiking area in the middle of one of Norway's most important food sources.
The person we are looking for
- Since we are located in the ocean gap with one of Norway's most beautiful bird mountains a walk away, it is a great advantage if you are interested in nature, outdoor life and see the potential that lies in wild plants and harvesting from nature as part of the food experience.
- A certificate as a chef is desirable, but not a prerequisite. Great emphasis is placed on relevant experience and personal qualities.
- You must be able to communicate in one of the Scandinavian languages.
- Guest treatment is an important part of the job, so good communication skills are also emphasized.
- It is an advantage to have a driver's license and your own car.
Work tasks include, among other things
- Daily operation of the kitchen (ordering of goods, menu planning, calculation of recipes, menu setup and other tasks related to the operation of a modern kitchen).
- Develop course programs with the theme of power and food, and conduct these outdoors with guests.
- Contribute to development projects in networks with other companies.
- Participate in the development of a new food offer in connection with the center.
