Experience Runde is a part of Runde Environmental Center

Job announcement Nature guide / Nature guide / Nature educator

We are looking for two nature guides for the 2026 season.

Are you a nature enthusiast who loves to spread joy, curiosity and knowledge?

Experience Runde run the visitor center on the spectacular island Runde , as part of Runde Environmental Center. Here we combine nature experiences with knowledge transfer – whether it is through a hot meal in our café, a comfortable stay in our modern apartments, or exciting activities out in the wild.

Every year, 40,000–50,000 adventurous guests find their way here, and around 15,000–20,000 of them stop by our center. We offer unique nature experiences, with guided hikes up to the majestic bird cliff – by far our most popular activity – as well as a range of coastal experiences such as seaweed safaris, coasteering and our educational "Bird Scientist" program. Our guests range from families with children and school classes to retirement groups, all with a shared passion for nature, learning and adventure.

Job duties:

  • Guide tours and communicate about coastal ecology at Runde .
  • Guided tours of the exhibition.
  • Contribute to developing new dissemination programs and projects.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks, such as helping in the cafe when needed.

Desired qualifications:

  • Scientific background as a biologist, nature guide or ranger.
  • You enjoy spreading joy and knowledge among people. Experience with nature guiding, outdoor recreation guiding or experience design is an advantage.
  • Certifications as an instructor/guide in activities such as kayaking, diving or coasteering are a plus.
  • Enjoys working with children and youth.

For us, personal qualities are at least as important as the skills you bring. You must be able to work independently, be willing to learn, curious and have good collaboration skills. We don't expect you to be an expert on both birds and fish from day one, but you must be motivated to learn!

We offer:

  • An exciting position where you get to meet many people and help spread knowledge about our fantastic nature.
  • A good working environment with a focus on safety and mastery.

The start date will be at the beginning of May, and we want you to be able to work through the summer.
We would like a brief application, CV and transcript.
