SEAFARERS 2025

The world's smallest (and most beautiful) ocean festival Runde September 5th - 7th

A wonderful weekend at Runde - with much love for the sea

What a start to the weekend! On Friday and Saturday, we gathered together with Njord Freediver and Herøy Diving Club over 40 adventurous participants who wanted to experience the sea up close. Friday evening was the festival opening and the first meeting for many. Planning Saturday's dives, preparing equipment and of course the festival's traditional Friday tacos!

Saturday morning started with a lovely yoga session and a good breakfast, before heading out on the dive boats to various locations. Scuba diving, free diving, coasteering and kayaking awaited – and nature delivered on top shelf! The love of the sea ran like a common thread throughout the day, and the lunch after the activities was filled with good conversations and shared impressions.

Then it was time for After Sea – a gathering where stories and knowledge took center stage. We heard engaging lectures from Kajakk-Kim , marine biologist Erle , Norway's fiercest freediver Mari Aarbø and inspiring Ingjerd and Dan-Willy from Swim4Fjords . An evening of tapas, laughter and long conversations rounded off a perfect day.

On Sunday we opened for Sunday Funday – a free activity day for everyone. There was a lot of activity from morning until night, with nearly 200 people participating in various activities!
With equipment and activities from BUA , Herøy Kayak Club , Kajakk-Kim , Njord Freediver/Herøy Dykkerklubb and Sunnmørsbadet, both young and old got to try out freediving, kayaking, coasteering, all varieties of play and paddling equipment and even funballs on the water. The divers from Saturday took new trips out by boat, and at the end of the day everyone met for saPizza afterwards tasted extra good for the many who had thrown themselves into the activities.

It was a tired but happy group packing up their gear on Sunday evening. Grateful for the opportunity to create so many fantastic nature experiences, for all the participants, good friends who contributed, and not least the sponsors who made this possible.

See you by the sea in 2026!
