Join us for a magical experience where the ocean meets land.

On an evening trip to the bird mountain, you can get close to both puffins and other birds that nest at Runde. You get an insight into the special life of seabirds, nature at Runde and of course the story of a real gold treasure from the sinking of the Akerendam off Runde in 1725.

Take the speedboat from Ålesund to Hareid. There you will be taken by private bus to Runde Miljøsenter. There you will be met by a skilled nature guide who will show you around the exhibitions at the center. You will see the film "The Silver of the Sea", a fantastic nature documentary about the puffins and the ecosystem they are part of here at Runde.

After the tour, dinner is served, before the tour continues to the bird mountain.

The hike up the bird mountain takes 45 minutes at an easy pace. There is a lot to see on the way up, and there are several stops along the way. At the top of the bird mountain, there is plenty of time to enjoy the view and the salty sea air. At the puffin watch, you can get close to the fantastic puffins.  

If you're lucky, you'll end the tour with the sun setting in the sea while puffins swarm in the air above your head.

Once down again, the bus returns to the speedboat quay at Hareid, and back to Ålesund.
